A traditional shopping bag made from high-density polyethylene uses the least amount of raw materials compared to reusable options.

Given the small amount of raw materials needed to produce a traditional high-density polyethylene shopping bag, the existing reusable alternatives need “too many” reuses to be more environmentally friendly.

In the graph you can see the number of times some of the alternatives have to be reused for their environmental impact to be lower.
