Circular raw-material

Going from plastic waste residues to polyethylene or polypropylene.

Chemical recycling is a recycling process which converts plastic waste back into monomers. This technology can exponentially increase post-consumer recycling rates of flexible packaging film waste residues, such as multi-layer flexible packaging.

The whole Chemical recycling process has multiple stages, it initially starts by converting shredded plastic waste back into monomers. This is done using pyrolysis at around 400°C in the absence of oxygen, which breaks the polymer chains back into the monomers from which they were made.

The resultant pyrolysis oil will then be chemically decontaminated and saturated through hydrogenation, in order that the purified pyrolysis oil, is suitable to be considered an alternative to crude oil-derived naphtha and can finally be used to feed it into the cracker, as a basis raw material to manufacture contamination free polymers.

Polivouga, is pioneer in the market, offering Helix BOPE film and Zapphir BOPP film, Chemical Recycling films, under our ChemR product range.
